In the UK there are over seven million cats. Cats Protection is the organisation dedicated to helping, rescuing, re-homing and supporting cats. With 32 adoption centres and 250 volunteer-run branches, we help around 200, 000 cats and kittens each year. We are now seeking an Adoption Centre Manager to join our team in Gateshead.

Following our vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs, we are an ambitious charitable organisation with a rich feline history dating back over 80 years.

At Cats Protection, we are passionate about cats and couple our love of everything feline with a professional approach that will aid us in our mission to home cats, provide an effective neutering service and improve the public’s understanding of cats and their needs.

We are looking for people who share our values of placing cats and their welfare first, never putting a healthy cat to sleep, valuing and respecting our volunteers, supporters and staff, providing the highest quality of service and being open and honest.

So, if you are a consummate leader with line management and budgetary experience, this is an outstanding role in which to pursue a rewarding career in the not-for-profit sector and make a real difference to the lives of some of the UK’s best loved pets.

As the Adoption Centre Manager, you will oversee the management of our Gateshead adoption centre in line with Cats Protection’s main aims of homing, neutering and educating.

You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision.

Additionally, you will manage all staff and volunteers, including Cat Care Assistants, Receptionists, the Site Maintenance Assistant and Homing Centre Volunteers.

Involved in all aspects of the running of the centre, you will ensure the site is staffed effectively, the cats are looked after properly and all policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
