Rescue Ranch

The Rescue and Rehab Ranch (“The Ranch”) is FOAU’s 16,000 square foot facility for housing and caring for the dogs and cats in our program. Built from the ground up by our volunteers, with materials donated by our generous donors, the Rescue and Rehab Ranch is where it all begins.

Prior it’s opening in June 2010, FOAU housed its animals in Salt Lake City each night, and operated an active foster home network for the animals nightly shelter needs. While we still greatly rely on our foster home network, now this is more often for special situations (puppy or kitten overload, as an example).

Today, the Ranch is where each new cat and dog is brought, upon entering our program. They are assessed for good heath and behavior, and once they are deemed ready – they enter our retail adoption program. Adoptable dogs are then transferred daily from the Ranch to Furburbia, our adoption center at the Tanger Outlet in Park City. Adoptable cats also reside at the Ranch, while they await their transfer to Furburbia.

The Ranch has the capacity to care for 40 dogs and 85 cats.

The Rescue and Rehab Ranch is closed to the public. Tours are available by appointment only.
