Youth Critter Competition

All kids who love animals are invited to help Friends of Animals Utah make the world a better place for adoptable dogs and cats. Help us make a difference by teaching people the importance of caring for animals, keeping them out of shelters and spay/neuter programs. The very first “Friends of Animals Youth Critter Competition” begins on June 1, 2010.

Categories include Public Service Announcements (television or radio) and Print Advertisements (newspaper or poster). Please choose one of the following subjects to address:

  • How to keep animals from going into shelters and the best way of finding homes for the animals who end up there
  • The importance of keeping animal population down, spay/neuter programs
  • Animal safety and humane treatment

Critter Camp
At Friends of Animals, we believe the key to animal welfare begins with children. Critter Camp is a unique, fun-filled and exciting day camp held twice each summer, July 19th-23rd and August 2nd-6th. Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm at the new Rescue and Rehab Ranch and cost $175.

Children ages 9-14 are welcome and will learn:

  • Care and compassion for all living things
  • Animal safety and handling
  • Introduction to wildlife
  • Basic training skills
  • Animal healthcare

Class space is limited.
